Religious and cultural reawakening inspires rebellion in a 19th century Norwegian village.
Berättelse:
En välgjord och gripande film baserad på verkliga händelser i samernas land! Den 8 november 1852 beger sig 57 kvinnor, män och barn med rasande steg mot byn Kautokeino. De har fått nog med orättvisorna som handelsmannen Ruth och prästen Fredrik ligger bakom. De söker upprättelse och snart är upproret ett faktum. Ruth har sedan länge tagit makten i egna händer, beslagtagit samernas renhjordar och arresterat flera av invånarna i samhället efter en tvist om en obetald skuld!
